1.5 - Your Body Measurements
Measurements
You will take measurements of your body every week to objectively track your progress. It is absolutely imperative that you take measurements consistently to try to make the variables the same each time. And resist the temptation to only record positive scores. Record the data even if the results are not what you wish because that could be vital information that will allow us to understand how your body is responding and whether we need to change anything. Remember, ultimately the results are for YOU, not for me. So you need not only give me the "good news."
You will write your weekly measurements in your journal. You will only share your weekly weight change on the Progress Tracker, not your actual weight.
You will need a soft measuring tape, a weight machine, and blood pressure machine (especially if your focus is to reduce your blood pressure). If your blood pressure is and has always been normal (less than 120/80)--and you are 100% sure about this--then you may skip this step. If you are not sure, just get or borrow a blood pressure machine. Lastly, make sure that your weight machine is calibrated correctly and works properly.
NOTE: Remember Hayat Tayyiba will be purchasing some of the medical devices needed, so you may need to wait a little. In the meantime, if you can get access to some of the above equipment, then great!
You will measure yourself the same day and the same time of the week, every week, ideally wearing the same clothes.
Here is what to measure and how:
